Work Shop on Digital Broadcast Technology Transfer Kicked off
March 4, 2011

A half day workshop on “Digital Broadcast and Experiences” organized by Human Resource Management and Development  Work Process and Authority Rwanda traveling experience sharing team kicked off here yesterday.

Speaking at the workshop Ayalew Getaneh, Gizaw Tesfaye and Shiferaw Solomon said that visible differences exist between the old analogue and the upcoming new digital broadcast services.

No doubt, Ethiopia has to meet the 2015 digitalization deadline set by ITU, they said and went on to state that color, speed and multichoice are just some of the advantages to be enjoyed by the upcoming digital system in contrast to the analogue scheme.

For the transition from analogue to digital broadcast won’t be easy, all stakeholders particularly those engaged in public relations and communications services need to lend a hand in sensitizing and promoting the new technology to the general public.

Broadcasting services could be provided among others, from the air satellites and cables.
