EBA: - The Ethiopian Broadcasting Authority tabled its performance for assessment before its staff here early this week .
The objective of the assessment , according to Leuel Geberu , deputy General Directorr was not only to draw a cross check between the input and the output but also to sort strengths and weaknesses for the upcoming fiscal year . No doubt, this helps to create common understanding on the tasks laying ahead, the director said adding that the results were encouraging.
Works related to BSC, and building change agents, among others, were cited here as major.
Following work process and units performance report, various questions and comments relating to achievements, draw backs and challenges were raised by participants and debated.
The country’s Growth and Transformation Plan (GTP) and Authority 5 year strategic plan were bench marks and reference points of the discussion.
Noting that the authority in conjunction with stake holders has taken a series of proactive measures meant to successfully launch the digitalization process that the country is in , leuel noted that organization of training and capacity building programs as well as establishing coordinating committee were in this regard ,in the list of major activities .
Issues relating to Licensing as many community radios as possible, updating the authority websites with rich and relevant information, empowering women were also focused and emphasized.
Similarly the 2004 E.C fiscal plan is said to be presented for discussion soon.
