EBA issues community radio license to CSC |
Addis Ababa: - The Ethiopian Broadcasting Authority (EBA) issued here yesterday community radio license to The Civil service College (CSC)
In a ceremony organized at the conference hall of the authority Ayalew Getaneh authority mass media expansion work process director has handed over the license to Teferei Belew, college community radio board member .
‘’we are extremely pleased for getting this license. we want to thank EBA for that .As we are already equipped with latest ICT materials and capable human power , it won’t be difficult as such for us to put in place the community radio soon. By the time the radio is launched, the college will have added colour and flavour to its teaching learning process,’’ he said

Ayalew Getaneh on his part representing the authority reiterated that forum for information and idea exchange would be one of the objective of establishing the radio .dissemination of college’ s research findings , boosting democracy and fighting corruption, among others .
Community radios could be established either based on geography or common interest.
And this one as such not only pertains to the latter, but also said to be the first of its kind when seen at academic level.
Some 9 community radios including this one have so far been licensed by the authority and 8 of them have become operational.
